‘Personalised designs will find its place at the IIJS Virtual this year’

Jaymin Vora of Romil Jewellery feels tha IIJS Virtual will be the place to be for all jewellers who want to experience a state-of-the-art technology
What is your view on the IIJS Virtual 2020?
Our expectations are high. Business has picked up from August and the supply chain is consolidated. They will look for responsible and stable partnerships and we are hoping to be one of them. This is a great attempt by GJEPC to reconnect the buyer and seller.
What are you planning to showcase in the virtual IIJS? What are your thoughts on sales from October to March 2021?
The pandemic has been a great opportunity to develop new collections for the upcoming festive season. We have a range of festive necklaces at different prices, starting from light-weight and going into heavy bridal wear. We have a range for working women too. We have chain stores that use state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. From what we have figured from our retail partners, lightweight jewellery in unique designs is the trend.
What is your message for retailers participating in the IIJS Virtual?
Jewellers will benefit from this experience and we expect personalised designs and technology. The festive season is a good opportunity to tailor products to target millennials and ethnic groups. There will be new styles that generate a buzz and draw people into the stores. The Virtual IIJS will enable them to experience state-of-the-art jewellery at one of the biggest shows in the world. It will showcase millions of designs, technology and styling across the country on one platform at the click of a button. One will get customisation and personal attention in the comfort of their offices and homes. It is less risky for them.
