By linking jewellery to personal expression rather than occasions, the campaign positions ZOUL within daily routines across work, social and individual spaces
Kozhikode: Malabar Gold & Diamonds has launched a television commercial to introduce its new lifestyle jewellery collection ZOUL. It is anchored in a clear visual metaphor: an elevator that allows women to select their mood, with each choice reflected through the jewellery they wear.
The TVC opens with women stepping into an elevator individually, each arriving from a different point in her day. Instead of choosing floors, they playfully press buttons representing distinct moods—such as “chill, groovy, chic or bold”. As the elevator responds, the film transitions into scenes that reflect these emotional states, with jewellery emerging as a natural extension of how each woman chooses to present herself in that moment.
In one sequence, a woman selects a mood associated with focus, followed by a shift into her professional environment, where a minimal diamond pendant and stud earrings complement her presence without distraction. In another, a different mood leads into a more relaxed social setting, where layered bracelets and rings reflect a more expressive styling choice. The elevator becomes the connecting device, reinforcing the idea that jewellery adapts not to occasions, but to personal states of mind.
The campaign material introduces ZOUL within this framework of emotional fluidity, presenting women in their everyday avatars as they move between work, personal time and social interaction. Jewellery is shown styled in varied ways; mixed, matched, layered, or worn minimally, without fixed conventions. The visual direction emphasises versatility, highlighting how lightweight pieces transition seamlessly across different moods and settings.
By using the elevator as its central narrative structure, the TVC presents jewellery selection as an intuitive, personal decision rather than a formal or occasion-driven one. Each transition reinforces continuity, with jewellery remaining part of the wearer’s identity across changing environments. The styling and pacing of the film prioritizes natural movement and realism, aligning jewellery with routine dressing rather than staged presentation.
Commenting on the launch, M.P. Ahammad, Chairman, Malabar Group, said, “ZOUL is a tribute to the spirit of women: confident, self-driven, and expressive in their own unique ways. Created to complement the many roles she balances each day, the collection blends effortless comfort with contemporary elegance, making it a natural extension of her lifestyle. With ZOUL, we embrace evolving aspirations while staying rooted in the trust, quality, and craftsmanship that define Malabar Gold & Diamonds.”
The jewellery featured in the TVC includes lightweight pieces crafted in 14KT and 18KT gold and set with natural diamonds, such as pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings, and gold chains. Within the campaign’s mood-based narrative, these pieces function as everyday choices, reinforcing the positioning of ZOUL as jewellery worn in response to how women feel, rather than where they are going.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds was established in 1993 as the flagship company of the Malabar Group, a diversified Indian business conglomerate. The company operates more than 400 showrooms across 13 countries, including India, the Middle East, the Far East, the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia.
