Ratlam: Kataria Jewellers, the 116-year-old jewellery house rooted in Madhya Pradesh, is set to enter Rajasthan with the launch of a large-format showroom in Kota, marking its first expansion beyond its home State.

The move represents a strategic transition from State player to regional retailer, as the brand looks to tap into high-growth consumption centres. With an established presence across Ratlam and Indore, the brand is now targeting Kota’s evolving consumer base, driven by rising incomes, urbanization and a young, aspirational population.

The expansion is being led by third-generation jeweller Yash Kataria, who is steering the brand towards a more structured growth trajectory. Backed by international exposure in London and Singapore, his approach focuses on strengthening governance, improving operational efficiencies, and investing in scalable retail formats while retaining the brand’s legacy of trust and craftsmanship.

Kota’s positioning as an education and industrial hub makes it a strategic entry point into Rajasthan. The city’s increasing appetite for premium and design-led jewellery aligns with Kataria Jewellers’ offering, enabling the brand to introduce a wider assortment of products to a new customer segment.

The upcoming showroom is designed as a contemporary retail destination, featuring expansive layouts, private consultation spaces, and curated collections spanning bridal gold, certified diamonds, platinum, and everyday jewellery. The format reflects the brand’s intent to deliver an elevated, organized retail experience to first-time customers in the new market.

The Kota launch serves as a pilot for Kataria Jewellers’ expansion model. By combining its legacy strengths with modern retail infrastructure, the brand is positioning itself to scale into adjacent markets, leveraging organized retail to unlock new demand and diversify its customer base beyond Madhya Pradesh.

The Kataria Jewellers brand traces its origins to 1909, when Shri Dhulchand Ji Sa Kataria established it as Daulatram Dhulchand. The name was changed to Dhulchand Pannalal in 1962 and later rebranded as Kataria Jewellers in 1999. Currently, the company operates two showrooms in Ratlam and another one at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
