Jewellery has traditionally marked life’s defining occasions, but the brand’s stance is that remarriage and second beginnings deserve the same recognition and respect
MUMBAI: Jewellery brand Jos Alukkas has just launched ‘Second Sunrises’, a six-episode podcast hosted by actor and film-maker Suhasini Maniratnam. The series focuses on well-known women who have chosen to rebuild their lives, exploring remarriage, renewed companionship and fresh chapters in life, framing them as defining milestones.
Jos Alukkas envisioned ‘Second Sunrises’ as an extension of its commitment to celebrating modern milestones that reflect individual choice and emotional significance. Jewellery has traditionally marked life’s defining occasions, but the brand’s stance is that remarriage and second beginnings deserve the same recognition and respect, and they can well be jewellery-buying occasions.
Through ‘Second Sunrises’, the brand aims to bring greater visibility to conversations around remarriage, especially for women, where such journeys have often remained private or understated. The podcast creates a thoughtful, respectful space for personal stories to unfold, highlighting resilience, agency and the courage it takes to choose happiness again.
The opening episode features actor and singer Mamta Mohandas, with subsequent episodes featuring media personality Pooja Bedi, author Sudha Menon, actor and host Ramya Subramanian, badminton champion Jwala Gutta, and screen actors Pavitra Lokesh and Vijaykrishna Naresh. Each brings a deeply personal perspective on rebuilding life, rediscovering companionship and moving forward with confidence.
The podcast aims to challenge conventional perceptions around remarriage, presenting second beginnings as acts of strength and self-belief rather than setbacks.
Second Sunrises is now streaming on YouTube and leading audio platforms. Through this initiative, Jos Alukkas reaffirms its belief that every new beginning is worthy of celebration—and that some of life’s brightest sunrises arrive the second time around.
The Jos Alukkas group, founded in 1964, was one of the first jewellers to launch a full-fledged online store. The brand has more than 60 showrooms across South India.
