Indian brands Sabyasachi High Jewellery and Swadesh shine at 98th Academy Awards in LA

Indian jewellery houses stood out along with global luxury maisons like Bvlgari and Tiffany and Co., reflecting the growing visibility of Indian craftsmanship at major international events

Los Angeles: The 98th Academy Awards ceremony, held on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, turned out to be a powerful showcase for high jewellery, as actors, musicians and other global personalities flaunted designs from leading jewellery houses. While heritage global luxury maisons dominated several looks, Indian brands such as Sabyasachi High Jewellery and Swadesh Jewellery were also going strong on the red carpet.

For the evening, business leader Isha Ambani chose a striking black ribbon choker by Lorraine Schwartz, centred on a dramatic diamond pendant featuring an inverted pear-shaped stone framed by cushion-cut diamonds.

Priyanka Chopra stepped onto the red carpet in Bvlgari, wearing the maison’s Serpenti Illusio high jewellery necklace featuring a 14.01-carat sapphire accented with diamonds, emeralds and onyx, paired with diamond earrings and a ring. The ‘Serpenti Illusio’ necklace is from the Bvlgari Eclettica High Jewelry collection, unveiled at the 98th Academy Awards.

Brandi Carlile and Catherine Shepherd in Swadesh Jewellery

Singers Brandi Carlile and Catherine Shepherd showcased fine jewellery by Swadesh, honouring Indian artisanal legacy on the Oscars stage. While Brandi Carlile wore the Petal Prism Brooch, inspired by the organic geometry of a sunflower, handcrafted by artisans in Telangana, Catherine Shepherd wore a fluid diamond necklace designed to drape and flow with the softness of fabric.

Anne Hathaway opted for Bvlgari’s Neoclassical Starlight high jewellery necklace, also from the Bvlgari Eclettica High Jewelry collection, highlighted by an 8.02-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond surrounded by more than 35 carats of diamonds, styled with diamond earrings and rings.

The singer and actor appeared in a statement Tiffany & Co. platinum and diamond necklace featuring more than 60 carats of round brilliant diamonds along with an emerald-cut diamond exceeding 18 carats, complemented by diamond earrings and rings.

The American actor’s look included nearly 55 carats of bespoke lab-grown diamond jewellery from Pandora, featuring layered necklaces set in white gold with lab-grown diamonds.
