Jewellery brands across India are redefining their roles—not just as purveyors of beauty, but as active agents of social change.
Thalassemia Support Event
Khurana Jewellery House recently hosted a fundraising event in collaboration with the Philanthropy Club to support thalassemia patients. The gathering combined an exclusive jewellery showcase with a fundraising initiative, attracting a blend of elegance and empathy. Through this effort, the brand emphasised its commitment to social causes, using its platform to raise awareness and generate support for individuals affected by this genetic blood disorder. It also demonstrated the idea that luxury and compassion can go hand in hand to drive meaningful societal change.
Respecting Sanitation Warriors
DC Jewellers recently organised a special event titled “Indore ke Gehne” to honour the city’s sanitation workers for their significant contribution to maintaining cleanliness. This initiative was part of the brand’s community engagement efforts, coinciding with the launch of their new store in Indore. By recognising the efforts of these essential service workers, DC Jewellers aimed to express gratitude and highlight their role in keeping the city clean. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the unsung heroes of the city.
An Eco-Spiritual Alliance
Abaran Timeless Jewellery, through its philanthropic arm, the Abaran Foundation, has partnered with ISKCON Mangaluru to support the Hasiru Sankalpa green initiative. This collaboration focuses on environmental sustainability, including the installation of a zero-chemical biological effluent treatment plant and an extensive plantation drive at the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s campus in Benjanapadavu. Additionally, the initiative encompasses the launch of ISKCON Mangaluru’s Govardhan Hills Centre for Culture and Education, that focuses on promoting holistic education and spiritual well-being.
Clean City Drive
Chetmani Ornaments & Jewellers, a prominent jewellery brand in Varanasi, recently organised “Plogathon 2.0” in collaboration with the Swachchanjali Kuda Bazar Foundation. This community-driven initiative intended to raise awareness about urban cleanliness and motivate residents to actively participate in keeping their environment clean. It successfully brought together 300 participants, including local residents and volunteers, who engaged in plogging—a combination of jogging and litter collection—across various parts of the city. The event thus demonstrated the brand’s dedication to fostering a cleaner, more conscious community.
Safe Water Initiative
Sumangali Jewellers Pvt Ltd, in collaboration with Helping Hearts and CMCH, inaugurated the Neer Nalam (Drinking Water Room) project at Coimbatore Government Hospital. This CSR initiative ensures clean and safe drinking water for patients, attendants, and hospital staff. Along with a full-time staff, Helping Hearts NGO will maintain the project for the next few years. The occasion was attended by key dignitaries, including the District Collector and directors of the brand.
