Chennai-based Challani Jewellery Mart honours cleanliness workers for their service
The brand felicitated 150 cleanliness workers for their contributions, especially during COVID and the recent rains, recognizing their often-overlooked role in maintaining public health and safety
Chennai: As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda, Challani Jewellery Mart of Chennai recently honoured 150 cleanliness workers from the T Nagar area of Greater Chennai Corporation for their invaluable service to the community.
The recognition ceremony, held ahead of the festival season, saw the workers receiving gifts as a token of appreciation for their tireless efforts. Speaking at the event, Jayantilal Challani, Managing Director of Challani Jewellery Mart, highlighted the importance of the workers’ contributions, particularly during challenging times. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, when many hesitated to touch surfaces, these workers ensured everything was kept clean and safe for us,” he said. “Their sacrifices were also evident during the recent downpour, when their efforts made life easier for everyone.”
One of the workers expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “Being acknowledged is very important to us, as we do this job as a service to the community.”
