Designed entirely in-house, the space brings together a re-interpretation of Sheesh Mahal mirror work, Jaipur-inspired elements and references to Bandra’s cultural setting

Mumbai: Design-focused retail brand Bhavya Ramesh has opened a new store in Bandra, marking the next step in the brand’s expansion. Its approach is design shaped by material exploration and Indian craft. The space reflects the direction set by the brand’s first flagship in Kala Ghoda and extends its method of building environments that align with its design language.

Bhavya Ramesh, Founder of the eponymous brand, is known for sculptural silverwork and reinterpretations of Indian craft. The move to Bandra followed the designer’s association with the city. “Mumbai has always had this way of pulling me in,” says Bhavya Ramesh. “Bandra felt like its own little world – creative, layered, always alive. I wanted to build something that felt at home here.”

The new store adds to the brand’s presence in Mumbai and supports its aim to connect with a wider customer base while maintaining continuity in its craft-led identity. The Bandra location has been designed entirely in-house, including layout, materials and sculptural details. The process followed an intuitive, craft-based approach, allowing the store to function as both a retail space and an extension of the brand’s design practice.

A central feature is a re-interpretation of Sheesh Mahal mirrorwork, developed with artisans who have worked with the technique for many years. Each mirror fragment has been placed by hand, creating shifting reflections that change with movement and light. The spatial language continues through Jaipur-inspired arches referencing the brand’s roots, while the façade incorporates woven textures found along Carter Road.

Floating cupids, a small fountain and a wall of sculpted ears introduce elements drawn from Bandra’s cultural environment and Mumbai’s public art. These references sit alongside the brand’s ongoing focus on silverwork and traditional jewellery craft, connecting material practice with spatial expression.

With the Bandra location, the brand continues to build a format where design, craft and cultural references function together to support customer interaction. The store adds another access point for the brand’s collections and sets a structure for future spaces that connect regional craft practices with contemporary retail.

Established in 2018, the brand focuses on traditional jewellery craft under the direction of founder Bhavya Ramesh.
