Mysore/Mysuru: Art Karat Jewellery recently presented its silver jewellery collection ‘Gopuram,’ inspired by the temple gates of South India, known for its unique art. The exhibition was held at Hotel Southern Star on Vinoba Road in Mysore on March 12 and 13 from 11 am to 8 pm respectively.

Gopuram is the brain child of Asha Kamal Modi, the designer behind Art Karat, who has created this gem of a collection that captures the essence of South Indian culture. This collection will feature a mix of South Indian guttapusalu necklaces, temple dance jewellery, and temple-paintings studded in jewelled frames. The designs are a beautiful mix of various workmanships from temple to kundan, pave to embossed gold, and paachi to Hyderabadi pearls respectively.

Art Karat stands for creating hand-crafted silver jewellery coated with 22k gold set with precious stones and an exceptional emphasis on detail. Most Art Karat designs are priced between Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 75,000, hence making it affordable for jewellery and art-lovers. The collection includes a beautiful range of necklaces, long earrings, bracelets, bajubandhs, tikaas, mathapatti, rings and nose pins.

More than 1,000 designs have been created for this exhibition. Art Karat has pioneered the concept of trunk shows in creating designer silver jewellery in India and organises over 250 exhibitions in more than 150 cities worldwide.
