– Abhishek Jain, Director, Mahaveer Jewellers
1. What was the biggest challenge you faced in your jewellery business, and how did you navigate it?
The toughest phase came when the business began to scale. It brought opportunity but also tested the trust we had built. I realised instinct and personal involvement weren’t enough, so we needed structure. I strengthened processes, trained staff, and built systems ensuring every customer received the same honest, professional service, making consistency the backbone of our credibility from day one.
2. Who did you turn to for guidance during that phase, and what key insights helped you take the right decisions?
I sought guidance from senior industry mentors and trusted business associates whose experience helped me look beyond short-term pressures toward long-term stability. One insight reshaped my leadership: a jeweller grows only when his team grows with him. It pushed me to delegate effectively, communicate clearly, and build a culture where everyone protects the brand’s promise with dedication and shared values.
3. What was the most valuable advice you received, and how did it shape your approach to business?
The advice that shaped my philosophy was clear: never compromise on purity or people. It reminded me that trust and relationships are the foundation of our trade—slow to build, quick to lose. It pushed me to reject short-term thinking and ensure decisions strengthened lasting credibility for our brand and team.
4. Looking back, how did this decision impact your business, and what advice would you offer to others in the industry today?
The impact was transformative: customers recognised our reliability, the team took ownership, and repeat business grew, strengthening loyalty and stability. My advice: competition is constant, but trust is the only USP no one can copy. Prioritise transparency, consistent service, and honest pricing—when customers trust you, everything follows in the end.
