Chennai: For more than four years, Challani Jewellery Mart has been running a weekly meals initiative led by the Challani Trust, which focuses on addressing food insecurity across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Every Saturday, the initiative reaches 13 locations with organized food distribution, ensuring access to meals for people who rely on community support for daily sustenance.

The programme serves over 65,000 meals every month, with food distributed at venues across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The effort is structured to run consistently, allowing beneficiaries to depend on a regular source of meals. According to the brand, the initiative is planned and executed with the intention of treating food distribution as a responsibility rather than a one-time activity.

Jayantilal J. Challani, Managing Director, Challani Jewellery Mart, said, “This initiative is rooted in the belief that food should reach those who need it without conditions. Every meal we serve is about respect and care for the community we operate in.”

The meals initiative also plays a role in strengthening Challani Jewellery Mart’s relationship with local communities. By maintaining a visible and consistent presence through the programme, the brand has been able to build trust among people who value responsible business practices. The initiative has also encouraged employee participation, allowing teams to engage directly with social efforts beyond the retail environment.

Challani added, “Our food distribution work has helped us connect with people beyond our stores. It has created awareness about our values and reinforced trust in our brand.”

The initiative has contributed to brand recall among customers who prefer to engage with businesses that demonstrate accountability towards society. The company notes that the programme has also influenced others in the region to organize similar efforts, further extending its impact.

Through sustained food distribution, Challani Jewellery Mart continues to align its CSR approach with long term community involvement. The initiative supports the brand’s focus on responsible operations while reinforcing its presence among customers who recognize consistency and commitment in corporate action.

Challani Jewellery Mart currently operates 15 jewellery showrooms across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
