Cultural programmes were used to communicate the message in a format accessible to local audiences, while the presence of district officials added gravitas to the event

Jammu: Talla Jewellers recently organized a social awareness event against drug abuse as part of its community engagement efforts. The initiative, titled ‘Lokrang’ and aligned with the theme ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’, focused on spreading awareness among youth through public participation and cultural performances. The awareness rally saw more than 200 participants, and street theatre performances that highlighted the impact of substance abuse on individuals and families. Cultural programmes were used to communicate the message in a format accessible to local audiences. The presence of district officials added institutional support to the initiative and helped extend its reach.

Commenting on the objective of the programme, Kashish Gupta, CEO, Talla Jewellers, said, “Empowering youth through awareness is essential for building a healthier society. Through this initiative, we wanted to encourage young people to make informed choices and understand the consequences of drug abuse.”

The event is in line with Talla Jewellers’ focus on engaging with social issues that affect the communities in which it operates. By addressing concerns linked to youth and public health, the brand strengthens its connection with local audiences and positions itself as a participant in community-led conversations, beyond retail activity.

In addition to the awareness programme, Talla Jewellers recently conducted a CSR activity at Bal Ashram, Channi. The initiative focused on hygiene and sanitation and involved around 150 children between the ages of seven and 18 years. In association with the LFO-BH Foundation, the brand distributed hygiene and daily-use items based on the Ashram’s requirements and interacted with the children to discuss basic hygiene practices.

Commenting on the CSR activity, Gupta said, “We organized the visit to Bal Ashram to begin the year by addressing needs that directly affect children’s daily lives and well-being.”

Together, these initiatives contribute to Talla Jewellers’ brand strategy of building trust and social responsibility. Consistent engagement with community issues helps build long-term relationships, strengthens local recall and supports the brand’s presence as one aligned with shared social values.

Talla Jewellers, founded in 1986 by Ajay Talla, has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading jewellery brand in Jammu & Kashmir. The company now operates four stores in Jammu, maintaining strong focus on craftsmanship and customer service.
