Face of the brand Miss Universe-Tripura Khumjar Debbarman picked the coupons from the full lot and announced the winners

Agartala: Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers concluded the mega draw for its annual promotional offers at the Agartala Press Club recently. Reigning Miss Universe–Tripura, Khumjar Debbarman, presided over the event, drawing the winning lots and announcing the names of the lucky customers.

Debbarman had been introduced last year as the youthful face of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, before going on to win the Miss Universe–Tripura title and representing the State at the Miss Universe–India finale in Jaipur this August.

The draw brought together entries from the jeweller’s festive schemes, ‘Saradiya Swarna Sambhar 2025’ and ‘Chomok Bhora Dhanteras 2025’, which were held across all Kolkata and Tripura showrooms from September 15–28 and October 10–22 respectively.

The event opened with a felicitation recognizing Debbarman’s achievements in winning the Tripura title, her determination to compete at the national level, and her contribution as the brand’s youthful face. The reception was followed by the draw, during which Debbarma picked the coupons from the full lot and announced the winners.

The five selected customers will receive their Scootys at a special presentation scheduled for next month.

“I am overjoyed to be here today and I take this opportunity to thank Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers for presenting me as their youthful face of Tripura and giving me the confidence to rise and shine”, said Khumjar Debbarma, adding, “And I also take this opportunity to congratulate the winners of the mega draw and wish them continued good luck.”

“Khumjar Debbarma is our youthful face of Tripura and, naturally, we are so very happy that she went on to win the Miss Universe-Tripura title and participate at the finale in Jaipur”, said Arpita Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, adding, “And this reception, on her return, is actually an expression of our great satisfaction and much pride for her living up to expectations.”

“And, coming to the draw, we thank our dear customers for their overwhelming support – of all our presentations – that encourages us in our pursuit of excellence and promise of more value-for-money”, said Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, adding, “And we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the lucky winners of the mega draw and – as always – wish our customers all the very best for the coming season.”

BRAND UNVEILS ‘SALIL CHOWDHURY SWARNANJALI’ GOLD COIN

Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, in association with the Anandapur Salil Chowdhury Birth Centenary Society, released an exclusive commemorative gold coin on November 13 to mark the birth centenary year of legendary music composer Salil Chowdhury.

The brand described the ‘Swarnanjali’ gold coin as a glowing tribute “worth its weight in gold” symbolizing the brilliance of Chowdhury’s music and the legacy he left behind.

The programme began with an audio-visual presentation featuring singers, musicians, lyricists and film-makers who had worked closely with Chowdhury. Eminent musicians recalled their association with the composer and shared personal reflections on his work.

The formal release of the ‘Salil Chowdhury Swarnanjali’ gold coin was conducted by the maestro’s daughters Antara Chowdhury and Sanchari Chowdhury, singers Srikanto Acharya and Kalyan Sen Barat, joined by Arpita Saha and Rupak Saha, Directors of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers.

“We have always felt honoured to felicitate maestros of Indian music and dance – with recipients of our ‘Sarvottam Samman’ being all time greats like Birju Maharaj, L Subramanyan, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Amjad Ali Khan and Zakir Hussain,” said Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers. “Incidentally, the first gold coin on Rabindranath Tagore was also presented by us in 2008.”

“With Salil Chowdhury, our tribute has been an extended involvement of over 10 years – beginning with the ‘Salil Chowdhury Memorial Honours’, the first recipient of which was Dr K J Yesudas, in 2016,” said Arpita Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers.

The release concluded with the announcement that the limited-edition gold coins — along with gold-plated silver coins — would be available for purchase until stocks last.

Shyam Sunder Co. Jewellers currently has six retail stores, three in West Bengal and three in Tripura.
