The brand provided jewellery for the runway and allowed students to integrate its designs into their curated ensembles
Mumbai: Vandals recently partnered with Istituto Marangoni Mumbai, the Indian campus of the international fashion and design school, for its annual student fashion show. The collaboration involved providing jewellery for the runway and allowing students to integrate Vandals’ pieces into their curated ensembles. The event formed part of a larger initiative – a documentary on top jewellery brands in India on OTT platform Hotstar.
The collaboration aimed to give students practical exposure to styling jewellery with fashion collections. Vandana M. Jagwani, Creative Director, Vandals, said, “Working with the students allowed us to demonstrate how jewellery completes a look. We gave them full freedom to choose pieces, and it was an opportunity for them to understand design integration in a professional setting. We also see it as an investment in education, which is key to the growth of the industry.”
The initiative benefits Vandals by positioning the brand within the creative student community, expanding visibility before young designers, and establishing connections with future industry professionals. It also aligns Vandals with the international fashion scenario, as the Marangoni network spans Milan, Paris, London, Shanghai and Mumbai.
The pieces showcased were selected and styled by the students and professors, allowing Vandals to demonstrate the versatility of its collections while supporting talent development. The response from the audience, faculty and students was positive, and enhanced the brand’s growing presence in the fashion-education sector.
Jagwani added, “Collaborations like this help us build a community around the brand. It’s not just about retail; it’s about culture, education and shared growth. We plan to continue such initiatives and expand our engagement with upcoming designers.”
Through this collaboration, Vandals strengthened its brand identity, reached new audiences and positioned itself as a partner in shaping the next generation of jewellery and fashion professionals.
Launched in 2020 by Vandana Jagwani, Vandals is the lab-grown diamond vertical of Mahesh Notandass Fine Jewellery. Positioned at the intersection of innovation and legacy, the brand was created to challenge long-held industry perceptions around lab-grown diamonds. It merges an experiential, contemporary format with the design heritage of the legacy family jewellery business.
