Mumbai: The last few weeks have seen a flurry of activity in India’s gems and jewellery industry, with the All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) going all out to promote its nationwide jewellery shopping festival‘Lucky Lakshmi’. As the fifth edition of ‘Lucky Lakshmi’ – to be held across India from September 22 to November 9, 2025 – is all set to go live, Rajesh Rokde, Chairman, GJC, is upbeat about the way it has shaped up. “I’m thrilled to see the momentum building up for Lucky Lakshmi! This initiative has consistently proven to be a game-changer for our industry, and I’m confident that this year’s edition will surpass expectations. The response from retailers, consumers, and the market has been phenomenal, and we’re excited to bring this festive cheer to the nation,” Rokde says.

One of the key objectives of Lucky Lakshmi this year is to engage Gen Z consumers, who are increasingly influencing buying trends in the jewellery sector. Commenting on specific strategies to attract this younger demographic, Rokde says, “We’re using a multi-pronged approach to engage Gen Z — including digital campaigns, influencer tie-ups, and showcasing contemporary, trend-forward designsthat appeal to their tastes and preferences. We want Lucky Lakshmi to be a platform where young buyers discover jewellery that resonates with their lifestyle.”

A noteworthy consumer trend among younger buyers, according to Rokde, is a renewed interest in offline shopping and unique, personalized designs. Lucky Lakshmi aims to tap into this shift by offering an immersive, hands-on retail experience — something online channels can’t replicate.

Rokde describes the response from retailers across the country as“overwhelmingly positive”. Small and medium-sized jewellers are expected to be the biggest beneficiaries of this campaign. “They are particularly excited about the opportunity to reach a wider audience and increase their sales during the critical festive window. We’re working closely with them to ensure they have the necessary support and resources to participate in Lucky Lakshmi,” he says.

For retailersstill undecided about joining the campaign, Rokde’s message is clear: “Don’t miss out!Lucky Lakshmi is a unique opportunity to showcase your brand, tap into high footfalls and ride the festive momentum. We’ve seen tremendous success in previous years, and I’m confident that this year’s edition will be even bigger and better. Join us and be a part of the excitement,” he declares.

Rokde credits roadshows held across 30+ cities for building nationwide buzz about Lucky Lakshmi 2025. “These roadshows have allowed us to engage directly with jewellers and consumers. The feedback has been fantastic and has set the tone for what we expect to be a landmark edition of the festival,” he says.

Beyond driving sales, Lucky Lakshmi also plays a strategic role in promoting organized retail and responsible business practices, crucial for building trust with consumers and credibility with regulators.

This year, one of the standout themes is sustainability, Rokde reveals. “We’re working with retailers to promote environmentally responsible jewellery practices, and we’re confident that this initiative will resonate with consumers and drive positive change in the industry. Consumers, especially the younger ones, are increasingly valuing sustainability, and we’re proud to support that shift,” he explains.

With solid industry backing, consumer enthusiasm, and a strong vision for the future, Lucky Lakshmi 2025 is poised to light up India’s jewellery retail landscape.
