Mumbai: SWA Diamonds has announced the opening of the ‘SWA Designer Lab’, a new initiative positioned as an international hub for Indian natural diamond design. The first centres will be set up in Kerala and Mumbai, with plans to expand into other cities in future.

The SWA Designer Lab is designed as a collaborative platform for jewellery designers. It will bring together established Italian and Indian masters with young designers to encourage the creation of jewellery that reflects both traditional and modern influences. By providing access to advanced facilities and technical expertise, the lab seeks to support innovation in diamond jewellery design and strengthen the link between Indian craftsmanship and global trends.

Abdul Gafur Anadiyan, Managing Director of SWA Diamonds, said, “The SWA Designer Lab is a celebration of story-telling, where tradition meets innovation. We want to create a space where every designer can contribute to jewellery that reflects heritage while meeting the aspirations of global audiences.”

SWA Diamonds derives its name from the Sanskrit word Swa, meaning ‘oneself’, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on individual expression. Each jewellery piece is developed with this principle at its core, backed by the skills of artisans and designers. The brand also holds the Guinness World Record for embedding the largest number of natural diamonds in a single ring.

The company was launched in 2019 by Capestone Ventures Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of gold, diamond and platinum ornaments that also operates as a wholesale supplier to major retail jewellers. From its base in India, SWA Diamonds has built a retail presence across 17 domestic cities and three international markets. The launch of the ‘SWA Designer Lab’ will mark another step in its strategy to align jewellery design with international fashion directions while continuing to highlight India’s diamond heritage.
