Mumbai: Jewellery brand Misho Designs is set to introduce its first high jewellery line, named Jaipur, which comprises 16-pieces of jewellery inspired by the historic gates of Jaipur’s City Palace. The collection will be launched towards the end of February and will be available by appointment at the brand’s Mumbai studio.

Designed by Suhani Parekh, Creative Director, Misho Designs, the collection reflects her interest in the city’s architecture and cultural heritage. “There’s something about a gate,” Vogue India quoted her as saying. “It’s more than just an entrance—it’s a threshold, a space between two worlds.” This realization led to the creation of Misho’s most ambitious collection so far.

The collection is a collaboration with Princess Gauravi Kumari and the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDFK), which supports women artisans in Rajasthan and helps preserve traditional crafts. “It felt like a natural synergy,” Parekh notes. A portion of the proceeds from Jaipur will be donated to PDFK, and a jewellery bag charm inspired by Jaipur will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

Parekh took a different approach by repurposing gold from her personal heirloom pieces—trinkets, coins, and other inherited jewellery—alongside responsibly sourced 18K S.M.O gold. “Gold is passed down through generations—from little trinkets, gold coins to heirlooms—pieces that are often never really used,” she told Vogue India. “I wanted to deconstruct them and reimagine them in a way that resonates with my design sensibilities today.” Single Mine Origin gold ensures ethical sourcing and full traceability, aligning with Misho’s commitment to responsible craftsmanship. This marks not only Misho’s entry into high jewellery but also its exploration of gemstones and colour, essential to capturing the vibrancy of Jaipur.

The collection features gemstones chosen to reflect the colours of Jaipur’s palace gates. The Peacock Gate’s deep blues appear in sapphires, while emeralds and pink sapphires represent the greens and pinks of the Lotus and Leheriya Gates. The Winter Gate’s rose motifs are mirrored in rubies. These stones, sourced from Jaipur’s Johri Bazaar, further connect the collection to the city’s gemstone craftsmanship.

Jaipur re-interprets traditional techniques such as meenakari enamelling and intricate pearl detailing. Instead of using pearls conventionally, Parekh incorporates them as structural elements that complement the design of each piece. This balance of heritage and contemporary design is central to Misho’s approach.

Mumbai-based Misho Designs operates from its design studio at Bunder Road, Sewree. It also has an e-commerce platform through which it ships its products within India and also internationally.
