The ring is part of the Checkmate Collection, a range of jewellery inspired by the game of chess, to celebrate the youngest World Chess Champion

Bengaluru: BlueStone recently presented 18-year-old chess prodigy Gukesh Dommaraju, who made history as the youngest World Chess Champion, with a chess-themed ring. Engraved with the words ‘World Champion’, the ring is a symbol of his relentless determination. At its heart lies a thoughtful design—a pawn instead of the traditional king. This unique choice reflects Gukesh’s journey, highlighting how greatness can be achieved at a young age just as the pawn holds the potential to transform into the most powerful piece on the chessboard.

As avid fans of chess, the BlueStone team was deeply inspired by Gukesh’s historic win and the dedication behind his journey. They met Gukesh’s parents, recognizing their unwavering support and role in his success, and gifted them exquisite ‘Him and Her’ jewellery, with their names intricately engraved on the King and Queen pieces.

BlueStone’s ‘Checkmate Collection’ is a range of jewellery inspired by the game of chess. Crafted in gold with black onyx and diamond accents, the collection embodies the precision, elegance and strategic depth of chess. Each piece reflects the timeless sophistication of the game, making it a perfect tribute to Gukesh’s historic win.

Speaking on the collection, a spokesperson from BlueStone said, “Gukesh’s remarkable victory is of the mastery and determination that come from relentless hard work, and it’s a moment of immense pride for the country. Each piece in the Checkmate collection is a portrayal of the game, and it’s an honour to celebrate his achievement with a ring that encapsulates the spirit of his journey to victory and the finesse of the game of chess.”
