Mumbai: The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) commemorated its 30th anniversary with a poignant convocation ceremony on August 3, 2024, held at the illustrious Sahara Star. This landmark event celebrated the achievements of 150 graduates, reflecting IIG’s commitment to nurturing global talent in gemology.

The ceremony, which drew participants from Kenya, Nairobi, UAE, and Sri Lanka, highlighted IIG’s expansive international influence. Many attendees joined the celebration virtually via Zoom, underscoring the institute’s inclusive approach and its role as a global leader in gemology education.

Although Sachin Jain, Regional CEO of the World Gold Council, was scheduled to be the chief guest, unforeseen circumstances prevented his attendance. Our mission at IIG is to empower each student with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the gemology field, and today’s celebration demonstrates that commitment.”

One graduating student shared their transformative experience, stating, “Graduating from IIG has been a life-changing journey. The tailored education and support provided here have prepared me to start my own business. IIG has not only taught me gemology but also how to excel in the industry.”

Gunjan Sapra, COO & HOD of the Design Department, highlighted IIG’s broad range of offerings and its mission to provide education in diverse formats.
