5th Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards recognize top jewellers for excellence in diverse realms of retail

Dubai: The grand finale of the 5th edition of the Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards 2024, the Middle East’s first recognition platform for retail jewellers, was held at The Hyatt Regency, Deira, Dubai, on February 27, 2024. The awards ceremony recognized top-notch jewellers for their excellence in diverse realms of retail jewellery in the Middle East region.
Now in its fifth year, the Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards has developed into the most desired and distinguished reward for design, retail, marketing, professional excellence, entrepreneurship, visionary leadership and other notable aspects of the Middle East retail jewellery business.
The awards have gained strong traction in the GCC markets as well and strive to draw attention not only to individuals, and retail jewellery houses, but to the entire industry in the Middle East. The platform showcases the exceptional success stories of jewellers and offers inspiration to industry peers to work hard to achieve and maintain excellence in various aspects of jewellery retail.
This year, the 5th Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards 2024 platform saw an unrivalled show of retail excellence and achievements across design, marketing, customer experience and more from the region’s premier jewellery business houses. The awards recognized jewellers in 27 categories, capturing the industry’s dynamic and evolving retail landscape.
Commenting on the awards, Samit Bhatta, Co-founder and Director of Fountain Media and Communications, India & UAE, said, “The Middle East jewellery market is growing unprecedentedly, and retail jewellers are breaking traditional retail boundaries to adapt to modern retailing practices. The Retail Jeweller Middle East awards recognize the excellence of brands and individuals pioneering this transformation.”
On receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, Tawfique Abdulla, Chairman of Jawhara Jewellery, said: “We worked hard and the honour this evening recognizes my team members, and my old colleagues right from 35 years back.” Chirag Soni, Director, SGL Labs, spoke about his association with Tawfique Abdulla, recalling how meticulous Abdulla was in going deep into topics that others would find difficult to understand.
Mahesh Devji, MD, Devji Aurum, adjudged Visionary Leader of the Year (Bahrain) said: “I dedicate this to all my artisans who are the backbone of who we are and to my father who has given us the lessons and the principles that guide us.”
Nishith Shah, CEO, La Marquise Jewellery, winner of the Workwear Jewellery of the Year, said: “It’s a pleasure to get this award; nothing can be done without team effort.”
Chirag Vora of Bafleh Jewellery, winner of Young Entrepreneur of the Year (UAE) said, “I would like to thank my suppliers, customers and the staff. In the jewellery industry, if banks are not there, the industry goes for a toss. I would like to thank the entire ecosystem without which the industry cannot function.”
