VBJ launches new silver showroom ‘Vummidi Silverware’ next to existing outlet in Chennai

The 8,000 sq. ft store reflects VBJ’s continued focus on silver, its original business segment, while offering customers access to multiple product categories in one location

Chennai: Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) has relaunched its silver showroom, Vummidi Silverware, at Anna Salai in Chennai. The new 8,000 sq.ft showroom is located adjacent to the existing silver store and brings together a wider range of silver jewellery and silverware within an expanded retail space.

The relaunch marks a continuation of VBJ’s association with silver, which dates back over a century. The company began its operations with silver and has maintained its focus on this category alongside its other offerings. The new showroom has been positioned to reflect this origin while presenting the full range of its silver products.

The showroom includes a large number of designs across silver jewellery and silverware. The collection covers daily wear jewellery as well as silverware for different uses, including pooja articles, home décor, dining collections, collectibles and customized pieces. The store layout has been structured to allow customers to access multiple categories easily within a single location.

The expansion also strengthens VBJ’s presence on Anna Salai, where it already operates its earlier silver showroom. By situating the new space next to the existing store, the company has created a consolidated retail destination focused on silver products.

Speaking on the launch, Jithendra Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, said, “Silver is where our story began, and this new showroom is a tribute to those beginnings. While we have continuously evolved over the decades, our commitment to preserving the artistry and relevance of silver has remained unchanged. This larger showroom allows us to present our complete silver universe in a way that offers customers greater choice, a more immersive experience and an environment that reflects the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with VBJ.”

Vummidi Silverware is the dedicated silver vertical of VBJ, carrying forward the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship and trust that dates back to 1900.

VBJ operates as a fifth-generation family-run business. The brand is associated with the creation of the Sengol, a sceptre linked to India’s democratic history, that now resides in the new Parliament building.
