Mumbai: Luxury jewellery designer Poonam Soni held a launch event for her latest creation, the Brace-Watch – made in collaboration with celebrity fitness and lifestyle icon Nawaz Modi Singhania – in Mumbai on December 11, 2025. The innovative piece, which combines the elegance of a bracelet with the functionality of a timepiece, incorporating miniature art into high jewellery, was officially inaugurated by socialite, philanthropist, and entrepreneur Avanti Birla, during the elegant, intimate evening. The jewellery was showcased alongside Soni’s other celebrated pieces in a relaxed setting where guests could engage in conversation and admire the artistry on display.

The Brace-Watch marks the revival of Soni’s long-standing collaboration with Nawaz Modi Singhania, who has contributed her signature miniature paintings to the piece. The collaboration between Soni and Singhania dates back to 2011, when they first introduced the S2 collection, featuring artistic cuffs adorned with motifs like galloping horses and leopards. The new Brace-Watch, however, presents a fresh direction, with vivid miniature paintings of tigers, jaguars and other big cats encased in a bracelet designed to resemble a timepiece. The piece is set with high-quality baguette-cut stones in monochromatic hues of rubies, emeralds, and deep blues, offering a striking visual appeal.

For Poonam Soni, this marks a pivotal moment in her 36-year career. Known for her exclusive, one-of-a-kind creations, Soni has now ventured into creating collectible art jewellery for a wider audience. The Brace-Watch, trademarked as a ‘cult bracelet’, blends Soni’s expertise in jewellery design with Nawaz’s fine art, resulting in a piece that transcends the traditional concept of jewellery and becomes a wearable work of art.

“It took eight months to perfect, from sourcing the right stones to achieving the perfect monochromatic hues. The result is a piece that seamlessly merges fine art and jewellery,” says Soni.

Each Brace-Watch requires meticulous craftsmanship, with multiple layers of hand-selected stones carefully arranged to achieve a balance of opaque richness and radiant sheen. The bracelet is adorned with closely stacked coloured baguette-cut stones, rendered in bold tones of red, green and cobalt blue, creating a dynamic and immediately recognizable aesthetic.

For Singhania, the collaboration is a testament to their creative synergy. “I love creating the mini artworks for Poonam’s jewellery. She takes them to another level with her design sensibility, bringing our shared vision to life. The end result is an arresting fusion of both our passions,” she said.
