The proposed IPO comprises a fresh issue of up to 1.36 crore equity shares and an offer for sale of up to 34 lakh shares by the promoters

Mumbai: M K Sons Fine Jewels Ltd, which operates under the consumer-facing brand MK Jewels, has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its proposed initial public offering (IPO), marking a key step forward in the company’s plans to enter the public markets. The proposed IPO comprises a fresh issue of up to 1.36 crore equity shares and an offer for sale of up to 34 lakh shares. There is no announcement on timelines yet.

As per the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) document, the company plans to deploy the proceeds from the fresh issue towards expanding its retail network. A significant portion of the funds will be used to set up a new showroom in Maharashtra and expand an existing showroom in Gujarat, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 151.51 crore. A further Rs 30 crore is proposed to be used towards repayment or pre-payment of certain borrowings, while the balance will be utilized for general corporate purposes.

The IPO forms part of M K Sons Fine Jewels’ broader retail expansion strategy as it looks to strengthen its presence in its existing markets and add new retail capacity. The company’s portfolio includes gold, silver, diamond and precious-stone and other jewellery categories.

The latest financial figures disclosed in the company’s DHRP documents show continued growth. For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, M K Sons Fine Jewels recorded revenue from operations of Rs 360.82 crore and profit after tax of Rs 29.17 crore. These figures have already surpassed the full-year FY2024-25 revenue and profit, although the periods are not directly comparable.

The company’s retail strategy includes a focus on customer service and showroom experience, supported by services such as home viewing in select locations and virtual consultations. Its inventory processes also include product tagging, traceability and monitoring of slow-moving stock.

With the IPO now receiving SEBI approval, the company is set to move towards the next stage of its public-market journey, with showroom expansion and balance-sheet strengthening forming key components of its growth strategy.
