By curating its jewellery to complement historical costumes presented within a heritage space, CKC Jewellers reinforced its position as a brand connected to continuity and the city’s history

Bengaluru: CKC Jewellers recently partnered with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Bengaluru, to present its jewellery during a heritage fashion walk held at the Manikyavelu Mansion, a historical structure situated in the heart of the city. The initiative brought the brand’s jewellery into a heritage environment, using a public monument as the setting to connect design, history and the city’s evolving cultural narrative.

The heritage fashion walk traced the journey of attire and culture from the Hoysala period through the Wadiyar era, covering key dynasties of the Deccan and the Carnatic region. Jewellery curated by CKC Jewellers was aligned with these periods, supporting the presentation of historical costumes and reinforcing the role of jewellery within regional traditions, rituals and courtly life.

The NGMA is housed within the Manikyavelu Mansion, a recognized heritage site maintained by the Government of Karnataka. For CKC Jewellers, with its history running alongside the city’s evolution, the setting reflected a shared legacy rooted in art, culture and public engagement. The brand’s participation positioned jewellery as part of the city’s cultural narrative rather than just a retail offering.

“Krishna Chetty and Bengaluru share a history that spans generations, and whenever art and culture are celebrated in this city, we feel a responsibility to be part of it,” said Dr Vinod Hayagriv, Managing Director, C. Krishniah Chetty Group.

The event drew visitors across age groups who were interested in the city’s cultural heritage. Footfalls over the two days reflected sustained public engagement, with the heritage space becoming a point of interaction for families, students and culture enthusiasts. The setting allowed the brand to engage audiences beyond the conventional retail environment, strengthening recall through a shared cultural experience.

By curating its jewellery presentation to complement historical costumes within a heritage space, CKC Jewellers reinforced its position as a brand connected to continuity and culture. The initiative supported visibility without relying on direct promotion, allowing the brand’s jewellery to be viewed in the context of history, tradition and fashion.

“We are not focused only on brand building; we are blending with the feelings of the city, respecting its past while remaining relevant to the future,” Dr Hayagriv added.

The association with the heritage fashion walk contributed to CKC Jewellers’ long-term positioning as a brand that participates in the cultural life of Bengaluru. By aligning with spaces and narratives that residents identify with, the initiative strengthened community connection, trust and relevance across generations.

A heritage jeweller with roots dating back to 1869, the C. Krishniah Chetty Group is a family-run company known for its fine jewellery. The brand currently operates five showrooms in Bengaluru. Its silver and lab grown diamonds brand Crash.Club, launched in July 2023, retails through these stores and online.
