The series focuses on everyday moments and personal decisions, linking them with the role of natural diamonds in individual journeys
Mumbai: The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) has introduced ‘For The Real Me’, a digital series that promotes natural diamond jewellery by leading retailers, featuring one of them in each episode. The series focuses on everyday moments and personal decisions, linking them with the role of natural diamonds in individual journeys. It is part of NDC’s ongoing communication strategy to engage consumers through content-led story-telling.
The initiative reflects a shift in communication where the category is presented through relatable narratives instead of product-led messaging. Each episode captures a specific life situation, positioning natural diamonds within moments that mark change, commitment or personal milestones.
The first episode depicts a daughter marking her mother’s 50th birthday with a diamond bracelet from A.S Motiwala Fine Jewellery. The narrative highlights a personal milestone within a family, using the exchange of jewellery to represent continuity and shared memory, placing natural diamonds within a moment of personal significance.
The second episode follows a couple on the verge of marriage, where the narrative focuses on reassurance and commitment. In this storyline, the man presents a diamond ring from Om Jewellers, using the gesture to express his intent and promise. The episode places natural diamonds within a pre-wedding context, linking them with commitment and emotional assurance.
The third episode presents a conversation between a father and daughter around entering the family business. The storyline references a diamond bracelet from Anmol Jewellers that the father had previously given to his daughter. The piece becomes part of the narrative as the daughter recalls the gesture to reinforce confidence and shared belief, connecting natural diamonds with legacy and continuity.
The series has also featured other retailers such as Khurana Jewellery House, Gehna Jewellers and Zen Diamond so far, extending the format across multiple narratives while maintaining a consistent structure.
The use of Instagram as the primary platform supports reach and engagement, with short-form video enabling quick consumption and sharing. The campaign follows a staggered release format to maintain audience interest and continuity. The collaboration with a premier content hub such as FilterCopy enables access to an established digital audience, giving the natural diamond category wide exposure.
From a positioning perspective, the series places natural diamonds within contexts that reflect personal life moments rather than occasion-based purchase. This approach builds a narrative around meaning, value, and relevance over time, linking the product with life decisions instead of standalone acquisition.
From a retail and category strategy standpoint, such collaborations enable retailers to be part of content that reaches consumers outside store environments. Featuring jewellers within story-telling-driven campaigns supports visibility while contributing to customer acquisition through indirect engagement. This approach helps sustain consumer interest, supporting both recall and purchase consideration over time.
The Natural Diamond Council is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the integrity of the natural diamond industry worldwide. Its member operations span four continents and 10 countries including Canada, South Africa and Botswana. NDC operates out of offices in New York, Shanghai, Mumbai and Antwerp, with satellite teams in the UK and France.
