With this activity, the jeweller reached out to the Bengali audience that holds Suchitra Sen in high esteem, and upped its brand recall quotient among them
Kolkata: On April 6, Agartala-based Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers marked veteran actor Suchitra Sen’s 94th birth anniversary with an exhibition titled ‘Suchitra’, which was inaugurated at the Abanindranath Tagore Gallery, ICCR, Kolkata. The exhibition continued over the week, providing a rare glimpse into the life of a cinematic legend through a rich collection of original posters from Sen’s films, rare photo booklets, songbooks and the sole recorded music of her career, and also displayed magazines, cover ads and film stills from her repertoire.
The event saw Moon Moon Sen, Suchitra Sen’s daughter, along with her grand-daughter, actor Riya Sen, and a host of other dignitaries, hosted by Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers.
Saha said the exhibition was a way to reach out to the Bengali audience, for whom Suchitra Sen is an icon. “For Bengali people, cinema legends such as Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen are a lot more than just film actors. For us, this is the first-ever exhibition on Suchitra Sen and it meant associating our brand with her name, which is significant for brand recall when it comes to the Bengali audience,” Saha explained.
An illustrious figure in the Bengali film industry, Sen’s talent and distinctive personality have left an indelible mark on Bengali as well as Hindi cinema. With a catalogue of popular films to her credit, Sen’s legacy continues to inspire and captivate audiences. With this activity, the brand reached out to the Bengali audience that holds Suchitra Sen in high esteem.
The brand’s senior customers, who have been ardent admirers of Sen’s works, were invited to the exhibition along with the intelligentsia of Kolkata. The brand also reached out to the present generation of movie buffs who could find a connect and become the brand’s potential customers. “We felt that the exhibition could inspire youngsters, new to Sen’s works, to follow her cinematic excellence as her films are now available on different digital platforms,” explained Saha.
Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers also received admiration from many quarters for presenting Suchitra Sen to the new generation.
