The brand gave away a live plant to every walk-in customer across its four stores over two days. While the activity allowed people to engage with the store beyond the product, social media response opened up new avenues of communication with existing and potential customers
Jammu: As part of its recent ‘Go Green’ initiative, Talla Jewellers gave away a live plant to every walk-in customer across its four stores over a two-day period from June 5 to June 6. The gesture aimed to encourage people to consider the role of greenery in everyday life and inspire personal responsibility towards the environment, while allowing them to engage with the brand beyond the product.
“The idea was simple – we wanted to do something that starts conversations and nudges people to think about environmental action on an individual level,” said Kashish Gupta, CEO of Talla Jewellers. “The response from the community was encouraging. Many customers appreciated the gesture and committed to caring for the plant, making it more than just an in-store activity.”
The initiative contributed to an unexpected uplift in customer experience. The surprise element of receiving a plant during a store visit helped form a stronger emotional connection with the brand. “It allowed customers to engage with the store beyond the product. That emotional association plays a subtle but important role in how the brand is remembered,” Gupta noted.
Beyond the physical stores, the Go Green campaign gained traction online. Customers shared images, stories and feedback across social platforms, boosting the initiative’s reach. “What stood out was how genuine the content felt—our own customers reacting in real time. That made it more relatable and credible,” said Gupta. “Many reached out on social media asking if they could still collect a plant, which led us to extend the initiative over two days.”
The campaign also opened up new avenues of communication with both existing and potential customers. “Environmental campaigns like these are not just a good practice—they’re becoming part of business thinking,” Gupta added. “People want to see brands stand for something. When the message is clear and real, it can influence how people relate to the brand over time.”
Talla Jewellers, founded in 1986 by Ajay Talla, has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading jewellery brand in Jammu & Kashmir. The company now operates four stores in Jammu and serves over 2,00,000 customers, maintaining a strong focus on craftsmanship and customer service.
