The event with around 300 attendees focused on celebrating the bond between mothers and their little daughters, who wore coordinated jewellery from NAC’s signature and ‘Young Ones’ collections. The brand reported a spike in sales and enquiries post the event
Mylapore: NAC Jewellers recently hosted an event titled ‘Moms & Mini’ at its Mylapore showroom in Chennai, drawing more than 70 mother-and-young-daughter duos for a runway experience aimed at showcasing their emotional bond. NAC also display edits jewellery collections, especially its Young Ones kids’ range, at the event. The brand reported a spike in in-store activity that weekend, with on-the-spot purchases and increased enquiries for its savings schemes.
“The idea behind ‘Moms & Mini’ was to celebrate the unique bond between mothers and daughters – a relationship that’s as timeless and precious as the jewellery we create,” said Nathella Anandha Ramanujam, Executive Director, NAC Jewellers. “Through this event, we wanted to bring that emotional connection to life by letting them walk the runway together in coordinated looks, styled with our signature collections.”
The day was divided into two age categories. The first, for children aged 1–6, started with registration at 10 am, followed by runway walks until noon. The second category, for ages 7–12, took place in the afternoon. Each mother-daughter duo had 30 seconds on the runway, with the event culminating in prize distribution, group photos and high tea.
The format allowed NAC to engage its customer base on a personal level while subtly promoting its products. “At NAC, we believe in celebrating relationships, tradition and emotional story-telling through jewellery,” said Ramanujam. “The ‘Moms & Mini’ event brings those values to life. It allowed us to create real, human connections with our customers, going beyond the product and engaging them in a joyful, memory-making experience.”
The event drew around 300 guests, including participants, family members, and influencers. “The event not only created a buzz on social media, but also touched hearts in-store,” Ramanujam added. “Seeing mothers and daughters bond over jewellery — laughing, posing and walking together — was the most authentic form of brand love we could ask for.”
Given the turnout and brand response, NAC Jewellers is considering making ‘Moms & Mini’ an annual event. “We’re already exploring future editions in other cities, possibly with new themes,” said Ramanujam.
NAC Jewellers was founded by Nathella Narayana Chetty in 1917. The business expanded under his son, Nathella Anantham Chetty, who opened a store in Parry’s Corner, Chennai in 1973. Today, NAC Jewellers has 11 stores in Chennai and an exclusive showroom in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
